No more impressions - No more temporaries
It is no joy for the dentist or patient when a temporary crown comes off prematurely, or when a patient gags on impression material. These are just some of the reasons why we have chosen to acquire the technology that allows us to make your permanent porcelain crown or onlay right in the office while you wait. The Cerec machine is state of the art in crown and bridge. Here is how it works: once the tooth is prepared for the crown, instead of taking an impression of the tooth, all we do is take a photo of it. The computer gives us an image of what the crown should look like using three-dimensional imaging and we either accept that crown or modify it. Once the designing is done, the milling unit will fabricate the all-porcelain crown right in our own office. The crown that it is created from is pure solid porcelain. The final result is an incredibly strong crown that has no metal in it allowing the highest esthetic results. The Cerec crown or onlay is not recommended in all situations though, so we will tell you if you are a candidate for this type of restoration.
